Addicted to Jesus

“God is no respecter of persons.”

Acts 10:34

This is one of my favorite verses in the bible. One of the biggest things I struggle with being an addict is acceptance. Acceptance of myself, acceptance from my family, and acceptance from others. In the past I have always felt embarassed, ashamed, guilty and defiled that I was an addict. I never wanted people to know this nasty truth about me, but it’s something I can never escape. Being an addict is who I am. It’s who I will always be. So instead of hiding from it, I am embracing it and turning it into a positive thing in my life instead of a destructive menance I keep trying to outrun.

According to Acts 10:34, the Bible says that God is no respecter of persons. Thank you GOD!!! You may be wondering what does this mean? I’ll tell you…. Are you ready for the good news????

It means that all of the blessings and promises that God has in store for us and talks about in the bible are available for everyone – no matter how much sin is in your life, no matter what happened in your past, no matter how much money you may have or not have, how many teeth you may or may not have – it’s available for EVERYONE!

If it’s available for me, it’s available for you. He does not care if you are the Pope, or if you are homeless Joe – his love and his blessings are a GIFT – available for all.

Merry Christmas!
