Addicted to Jesus

Addicted to Jesus

I can only speak for myself, but my addiction starts calling me first thing in the morning as soon as I open my eyes. Only now, I am no longer waking up in desperation hurting for drugs and alcohol – I’m waking up with enthusiasm because I can’t wait to talk to Jesus. Every morning I ask God to give me a message and I close my eyes while I blindly flip through my bible until I feel almost a magnetic pull on my finger to a certain page or verse. He blew my mind this morning. These words were incomprehensible before – completely foreign territory. Since I’ve transferred my addiction to Jesus, he stamped my passport to amazingness.

Here is my message for today:

Galatians 5:22-23 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Addiction robs us of our feelings and for most of us – the capacity to feel. Jesus promises that whatever the devil stole from us, he will return 100x more. When we are born again through baptism, we become 1/3 holy spirit. That means, all these amazing feelings that have disappeared I am getting back and they are going to be stronger than ever. ESPECIALLY self-control, love, and PEACE.
